Do social workers have union membership?

Many social workers are members of UNISON. Unison is the largest trade union in the UK, representing 1.3 million people working in a range of organisations including local government.

BASW is the professional body representing social workers. See the BASW website for details.

Unison has workplace representatives who can help you by providing advice and dealing with issues at work including improving pay and conditions at work, advice on health and safety, or training and career guidance.
