Registration

When will the General Social Care Council start registering the social care workforce?

The GSCC (General Social Care Council) will be responsible for the registration scheme for social workers. In order to be eligible for registration, applicants must be qualified and meet requirements on conduct, health and competence. The GSCC started registering social workers in spring 2003, social work students in Autumn 2004 and other social care workers will be included in the near future.
