Registration

Will I have to do an additional probationary year at work before I'm awarded the degree?

The degree will ensure that on entering employment graduates have core knowledge, understanding and skills to meet the National Occupational Standards for Social Workers. Students will be required to complete 200 days in practice settings to ensure they have the practical skills required of them before entering the workforce. The General Social Care Council may consider a newly qualified person needs further experience in practice before granting full registration as a worker.
