Training and Qualifications

Will literacy, numeracy and the ability to analyse written information be compulsory parts of the course?

The Requirements for Social Work Training state that universities should ensure students have Key Skills level 2 in English and mathematics normally equivalent to grade C in the GCSE examination but it is not mandatory to have obtained this qualification. Universities can determine their own method for deciding whether a candidate has achieved this level. Potential students who cannot meet these requirements should be encouraged and supported to meet them before undertaking the social work degree course.
